3-day workshop on research methodology in social sciences concludes

Guwahati, April 25 : A 3-working day-lengthy workshop on “Research Methodology in Social Sciences with specific reference to Qualitative and Quantitative Research” organized by the Section of Political Science, College of Science and Technologies Meghalaya (USTM) in collaboration with the Bengal Institute of Political Experiments (BIPS), Kolkata productively concluded on Saturday.

In the inaugural session, Prof. G D Sharma, Vice Chancellor of USTM congratulated the department for using the initiative to organize the workshop and inspired the participants to avail all the prospects to apparent their queries about investigation strategies by the workshop.

Prof. Raj Kumar Kothari, President, BIPS, gave a transient introduction of the group. The Basic Secretary of BIPS, Prof. Biswanath Chakraborty gave the opening remarks of the workshop and described the importance of Research Methodology in the current situation.

The inaugural session was followed by various educational periods. Prof. C. Joshua Thomas took a session on “Introducing Study Methodology as a subject” and guided the members on how to prepare a good investigation proposal. Prof. Joydeep Baruah presented his lecture on “Basics of Quantitative Research” and Prof. A. C. Talukdar took a session on “How to conceive a great investigate proposal”.

In the simple session on how to formulate a study proposal, the individuals have been requested to prepare a exploration proposal and they had to give their shows on the previous working day of the workshop.

Prof. Anil Kumar Mohapatra sent a lecture on “Review of Literature and Ethics in Research”. Prof. A. K. Baruah spoke on “Importance of Research” although Dr. Md. Nazeer Hussain spoke on “Basics of Dissertation writing”. Prof. Sujoy Ghosh delivered his lecture on “Research Design” although Prof. Asis Mistry shipped his speech on “Quantitative Research in Social Sciences”.

The very first session of the 3rd working day commenced with shows of the participants on preparation of analysis proposal. The shows were held in various classes giving all individuals a prospect to present their investigation proposal.

The workshop concluded with closing remarks by Prof A C Talukdar and Prof. Biswanath Chakraborty followed by the Feedback submission by the individuals. In the valedictory session, Dr Chandana Bhattacharjya prolonged the vote of many thanks. This was adopted by the distribution of certification to the members.
