NEWBERRY — Newberry Faculty has announced that Pat Gagliano, chair of arts and communications, will provide as interim dean of arts, humanities and social sciences.
“Pat is a continual chief,” reported Sid Parrish, Ph.D., vice president for academic affairs. “He has a great deal of working experience functioning in a office that is now a section of this division. He is arranged, clear-thinking, reliable and aim oriented. We are self-confident that this will be a prosperous yr less than his management.”
Gagliano has served Newberry Higher education given that he arrived in 1994 as professor of theatre and speech and chair of the division. In the course of his tenure, he has generated, directed and acted in lots of faculty theatre productions and suggested a great number of college students. He also served as director of the college lifestyle courses from 2008-12 and 2019-22.
He has distinguished himself with numerous awards, such as Boyd Professorship for Training Excellence (2006-07) the Carter Professorship for Selfless Providing (2009-10) and the National Modern society of Leadership and Success’ Excellence in Teaching Award (2014).
He has also been an officer and award-winning educator in the South Carolina Speech and Theatre Affiliation, the South Carolina Theatre Association and the Southeastern Theatre Meeting.
“The faculty in the arts, humanities and social sciences are proficient and caring folks. I look ahead to doing the job with just about every of them,” said Gagliano.
Gagliano has agreed to serve in the interim purpose for no extra than a calendar year while the institution conducts a nationwide lookup for the division’s permanent dean.
