Firefighters from many departments responded to a grass fire Tuesday afternoon in the vicinity of Erie.

At 4:19 p.m., MVFR said that the grass hearth and “involved structures” had been under command.
“No even more need for evacuation,” MVFR claimed on Twitter. Area residents were being advised to near windows mainly because of drifting smoke.
MVFR, North Metro Fireplace Rescue District and the Lafayette Fire Division responded to the fireplace. Firefighters urged the public to avoid the location for security explanations.
