Some of the disorders and diseases that endocrinologists treat include sexual problems, metabolic disorders, menstrual problems, thyroid issues, nutritional disorders, pituitary diseases, and diabetes. Diabetes is a common condition that can cause an enormous amount of damage to the body. That’s why it’s so important to get diabetic care for everyone who has this condition.

Diabetes and Patients

Diabetes may be common, but it’s extremely serious. It’s a condition that can affect every system of the body and can cause a lot of serious complications. It can cause patients to be constantly hungry, feel tired, and make patients thirsty. There are countless complications that can come from diabetes that make it a difficult condition to live with. It can cause vision problems, nerve pain, kidney problems, and even dementia. It’s important to be under a doctor’s care so that patients can have their condition assessed and monitored. Seeing an endocrinologist is the best way to make sure a patient is taken care of.

When a patient has diabetes, their body has a hard time processing sugar. There are two types of diabetes- type 1 and type 2. Both types can cause a patient to have extremely high levels of sugar in their blood. When blood sugar is excessive like this, it can cause a wide range of health problems. When you have diabetes, it’s important to make sure that it is well-controlled to reduce the risk of problems.

Diabetes Complications and Control

When diabetes isn’t being controlled well, it can put your vision at risk. When the blood has too much sugar, this can damage the tiny blood vessels that are in your retinas. This condition is known as diabetic retinopathy. It can cause significant vision loss and can eventually cause blindness. Diabetes can also cause a host of other eye problems, such as glaucoma and cataracts. When diabetes is under control, there won’t be as much sugar in the blood that can damage so many parts of the eye.

Dementia is a risk when diabetes isn’t well-controlled. Currently, scientists don’t know how this link between the two conditions works, but it does present a higher risk when you get older. Keeping blood sugar under control with diet, medication, and exercise is a good way to lower this risk. General health problems are common in people who have diabetes, and they may exist even if it’s under control. These problems can make daily life a little harder, and they get worse when the condition isn’t under control. Diabetes can make you feel tired constantly and make cause you to go to the bathroom often. It can also cause you to heal much more slowly. In addition, it can cause you to have a lot of bladder infections. You can have a higher quality of life by keeping the condition under close control and frequent monitoring. Seeing an endocrinologist like Dr. Adarsh Jha is an important part of managing the condition.
